We Must Repent

“Faith expects from God what is beyond all expectation.” — Andrew Murray

Isaiah 64:1-12 NLT 1 Oh, that you would burst from the heavens and come down! How the mountains would quake in your presence! 2 As fire causes wood to burn and water to boil, your coming would make the nations tremble. Then your enemies would learn the reason for your fame! 3 When you came down long ago, you did awesome deeds beyond our highest expectations. And oh, how the mountains quaked! 4 For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him! 5 You welcome those who gladly do good, who follow godly ways. But you have been very angry with us, for we are not godly. We are constant sinners; how can people like us be saved? 6 We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind. 7 Yet no one calls on your name or pleads with you for mercy. Therefore, you have turned away from us and turned us over to our sins. 8 And yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand. 9 Don’t be so angry with us, LORD. Please don’t remember our sins forever. Look at us, we pray, and see that we are all your people. 10 Your holy cities are destroyed. Zion is a wilderness; yes, Jerusalem is a desolate ruin. 11 The holy and beautiful Temple where our ancestors praised you has been burned down, and all the things of beauty are destroyed. 12 After all this, LORD, must you still refuse to help us? Will you continue to be silent and punish us?

The prophet Isaiah cried out to God on behalf of God’s people during Israel’s judgment. He prayed for God’s continued mercy, grace and favor as well as restoration of God’s people unto Himself.  Most importantly in Isaiah’s prayer, is the acknowledgement of the sins of Israel and how they had turned away from God to other gods and their lusts for living their own lives.  But Isaiah knew that God was their only help and hope for relief, renewal and restoration.  Isaiah not only proclaimed the sins of the people but also acknowledge the holiness, righteousness and almighty power of God to perform the miraculous on their behalf for His glory.  Isaiah remembered the awesomeness of God’s might and announced this fact before all of Israel, so that they could remember too.  His declaration was made in order that Israel would repent and that God would deliver them from their sins and bondage.

I believe as Believers,we should be making the same proclamations, declarations, and prayers for our families, communities, churches, and nations. We need to repent individually and collectively and remember who is the only One that can save us, restore us and deliver us from our mess.
How many ineffective and powerless church services, sermons and worship services are we going to hold before we face the real problem?  How many calls for outreach and building new churches and establishing new and innovative programs will we develop, before we realize the real problem and the answer?
Our sins are the problem and the answer is Jesus!

I for one am fed up with the world trying to provide other powerless and inadequate solutions for the problems in the world today.  At least for me it is this simple: Repent and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Our Redeemer.

I’m betting my eternal soul on this fact. I’m “All In”.  What are you betting yours on?  How many alternatives to true freedom, salvation, peace and joy are you going to fool around with before you are “All In” with Jesus?

I pray today that you make your decision and proclaim it first to yourself, then to God, then to the world.

God has done His part. Will we do ours?

May His mercy, favor and love abound with us again today.  May His love continue to cause Him to be patient with us and give us this day to return to Him.

“We can no longer overlook nor take for granted the positions that God has placed us in this world. This is a battle cry for all Believers to understand the power that we have been given and the responsibility to use that power for the glory of our Lord.” – Dracy Jenkins

I made this statement in a devotional I wrote back in early 2013 and I share it today in the midst of the events that are occurring around our nation and the world.  As I read or listen to various reports of the violence, injustice, the blaming, the hate and racism from all parties, and the fear, anger and pain, that is running rampant throughout our society, I can’t help but ask the obvious question of; “Why are we doing this to ourselves?”.

I think about, what has happened to: “…One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, With Justice For All.”  How can we as a nation, go through so much, been through so much, survived through so much, and yet, here we are, repeating the same mistakes, spouting the same hate and acting out of the same fears and ignorance of the past?

Then I hear the Holy Spirit say:

1 O my people, listen to my instructions. Open your ears to what I am saying,
2 for I will speak to you in a parable.
I will teach you hidden lessons from our past—
3 stories we have heard and known,
stories our ancestors handed down to us.
4 We will not hide these truths from our children;
we will tell the next generation
about the glorious deeds of the LORD,
about his power and his mighty wonders.
5 For he issued his laws to Jacob;
he gave his instructions to Israel.
He commanded our ancestors
to teach them to their children,
6 so the next generation might know them—
even the children not yet born—
and they in turn will teach their own children.
7 So each generation should set its hope anew on God,

And,

14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 15 My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place. (2 Chronicles 7:14-15).

In a day where religion is all-inclusive, churches and yes, us church-folk, resemble more of the world than the world itself.  Where our focus is on not offending people in order that our congregations grow and the money flows in.  Where “holiness and righteousness” are Old Testament traits that don’t apply today.  Can one truly be surprised at the state of our society, nation and world?

As I sit here in my office writing this, I am faced with the dark clouds of my excuses of how I am only one person, and that I cannot make a change in anything that is going on today in the world. And I wonder how many of us are sitting in our comfortable, “God, I will call on you when I need you”, and “as long as the storms don’t hit my front door, all is well”, lifestyles.

The inexcusable fact that we cannot get around or to say it another way, ” The Truth Of The Matter”, is that as Believers, we have been given, God ordained power!  Not to build buildings, not to create ear-pleasing programs or politically correct doctrines, but power to storm the gates of Hell itself.  Individually and collectively!  Power to change not only our circumstances, but our household, our jobs, our communities, our nation and even this entire world.  This power is in the hands of every Believer!

Yet, we sit on it!

Waiting for someone else or in my case a lot of times, waiting on Christ to return to take me/us out of this mess.  I will call it like it is this morning: this is cowardice!

Some may say that I’m being a little too hard today in this devotional.  But my spirit is telling me that maybe I’m have not been hard enough.  For how hard was it for Jesus to endure the cross?  How hard was it for the Saints of old and even some today, who have given their all and their lives for the sake of the Gospel?

Each of us will have to look in the mirror and ask ourselves, what have we’ve done with the Power of God today?  Even more so, one day we will have to answer this question before Christ.

Do you have an answer?

A Christian Without Prayer Is Just Another Title

“Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work.”  Oswald Chambers.

Psalm 141:2 NLT Accept my prayer as incense offered to you,and my upraised hands as an evening offering.

If prayer is not a focused, committed part of our lives as Christians, then we are truly fooling ourselves into thinking we are followers of Christ..  For it is clear that prayer was a critical part of Jesus life and ministry.  And we have scripture after scriptures of the men and women of God, staying in communication with God through prayer.  It was only after and through prayer, that they accomplished what God had purposed for them and those they ministered to.

We pray and ask in Jesus name, and God never fails to answer.  But that is not the primary reason to pray.  Prayer is our offering of praise and glory to God.  It is our opportunity to connect our spirit with His. To place our hearts and minds in humble submission to the Will of God.  We honor God with our prayers.

If we can begin to see prayer this way and not just as a vehicle to get out of trouble or to get what we want, then prayer and the act of praying becomes more desirable and effective.

Taking antibiotics for a long term may bring more harm than benefits. levitra prescription Abscess: Medicines which its primary duty regencygrandenursing.com levitra 10 mg is to recover belly troubles, in this situation it is concentrated on abscess. With optimal testosterone, you can maintain mood and libido to satisfy your lady in bed. important link levitra uk Always make sure cialis canada online that whenever you take any such kind of erection aiding medicine.

In this light, the words that Christ gave to us in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”, means so much more.

When prayer becomes the most important way of honoring and glorifying God, then we will have effective Christian lives.  Its in my humble opinion, that without a life of prayer, we have very little life at all.

Father, we ask that you would accept our offering of prayer today.  That at this time, our only desire is to thank you for your Son, your Word, your Spirit and your Love.  For this is truly all that we need. We honor you by desiring to spend as much time with you as we can.  Not just today, but every day that you grant us life upon this earth.  Help us to understand that being in your presence is what you desire.  And its in your presence, that we are able to be empowered to serve you and those you are calling to your Son.  Thank you for saving us.  Thank you for accepting us.  Thank you for loving us.  In Jesus, most precious name we pray, Amen.

Mold Me, Shape Me Lord

Mold us and shape us Lord, for Your glory.  For we are Yours. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

“God’s preparation for greatness in His Kingdom is often filled with difficult preparation.” — Os Hillman

Do you see your current obstacles or situations as preparations for something greater?  I agree that it takes extreme effort and faith to view our tests and trials as just that…something to make us stronger.  But as Believers in a great and Holy God, we must see things from a different perspective…God’s perspective.

1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT 6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

All through the Bible, just about everyone that God used, had to go through some type of preparation, some test of faith or some obstacle to overcome by trusting in God.

Abraham had to prepare his son for a sacrifice ordered by God. – Genesis 22:1-13

Noah had to endure ridicule and build a giant boat where there was never any sign of water nearby. – Genesis 6:13-7:5

David faced Goliath on the battlefield, face a king that wanted to kill him and his own internal desires. – 1 Samuel 17&18, 2 Samuel 11

Moses journey through the wilderness alone and then with the nation of Israel. Exodus 2 – Deuteronomy 34:12

Joseph having to deal with his brothers and Potiphar’s wife – Genesis 37, 39

John the Baptist preaching in the wilderness and Herodias, Herod’s wife’s hatred of him. – Mark 6

Paul being blinded on the road to Damascus. – Acts 9:3-22

Peter denying Christ. – Matthew 26:69-75

And of course, our Lord and Savior Jesus. – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John

If we desire to serve God, be conformed to His image, and take on the character of Christ, can we truly do no less that to endure various tests and obstacles in order to be the vessels that God will and can use?  Of course we would rather God simply snap His fingers and poof, we are instantly clean, perfect and righteous.  Because of Christ we are just that, however, we will never believe it unless it is shown to us by how we live and stand against the adversities that face us in life.  We could and would never see God’s goodness, love and power, if He did not deliver us from our problems when we call and place our trust on and in Him.

When we truly understand God’s love and plans for us, like David, we may one day be able to say:

Test me, LORD, and try me,  examine my heart and my mind; 3 for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness. – Psalm 26:2-3 2

If we continue to run or try to hide from our preparation, we will only slow the process of becoming someone greater in the Kingdom of God, that He desires for us to be.  Remember:

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. – James 1:12

Its Still All About Jesus

O’ Lord Jesus, we thank you for giving us life and purpose. For creating the path to our loving Heavenly Father.  May we honor you and all that you have done and continue to do on our behalf. “Feeling directionless and without a purpose in life?  Then come to me. I am the way and will show you THE Way”. – Jesus

John 14:6 NKJV 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

If we are honest with ourselves, we would admit that many times along this Christian journey, we find ourselves in an unfamiliar position or area in our lives. We are going along just fine, making it to church each Sunday, faithful in our giving and service. And for those really committed Believers, we even take time to make it to prayer meeting on Wednesday, choir practice on Saturday, Sunday School and even crazy enough, er, dedicated enough to volunteer for children’s church.:-) We are humble in our attitude, friendly and patient with others on the job, helpful and available at home, loving and caring as much as possible each day.

Then it happens.  Somewhere, somehow, we look up from being the best Christian we know how and find ourselves in unfamiliar territory.  Our joy and zeal for Christ is gone. Our patience and love for others is nowhere to be found. Our prayers seem to bounce back from the ceiling and its a struggle to eek out a “thank you Lord”.  We are lost and the longer we stay lost, we begin to question our walk with God, our commitment and unfortunately, God’s Will for us.

Does any of this sounds familiar?  Well praise God if you have never yet experienced this. But for most of us who have found ourselves in this desert place, Jesus provides the remedy.

Remember before we got so busy being a Christian, how we just wanted to spend time hearing the Word of Christ?  Remember How we couldn’t get enough of reading about Jesus’ birth, ministry, death and resurrection?  It was Jesus this and Jesus that.  Remember how our old friends and even some of our family members, that we had lost it? LOL.  Remember when those who would turn and go the other way when they saw you coming because they knew what the first thing would come out of your mouth…Jesus?

At this time, we were not lost, we were not without purpose or direction.  No we had found The Way, The Truth and The Life…in God!  And because we had found Jesus, we had found ourselves, our created purpose, our eternal future.  It had absolutely nothing to do with church attendance, amount of giving or service, etc. etc.  It was simply all about Jesus.

Can I share something with you this morning?  IT’S STILL ALL ABOUT JESUS!.

If you have found yourself in unfamiliar territory, may your heart, soul and spirit refocuses themselves on Jesus.  For He is THE WAY to God, THE TRUTH of God and THE LIFE in God.

We are blessed indeed.

Stand…For Your Battle Has Already Been Fought and Won

Lord Jesus, we thank you for the life you freely gave on our behalf.  We are unworthy, but are grateful for God’s grace, mercy and favor. May today, be a day where all that we do bring your glory and praise. And if we falter, forgive us and continue to perfect us for your glory.  We love you and surrender our hearts, minds and spirit to you.  It is in your name we pray, Amen.

“I see that you are fighting very hard against your enemies.  But I have already fought your battles and provided you the victory in me.” – Jesus

When God promised the Children of Israel that they would possess a land flowing with milk and honey, He also told them that although this land is already occupied, do not to worry, for He would deliver this land to them.

Exodus 33:1b-3a NLT Go up to the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I told them, ‘I will give this land to your descendants.’ 2 And I will send an angel before you to drive out the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. 3 Go up to this land that flows with milk and honey.

Leviticus 20:24 NLT 24 But I have promised you, ‘You will possess their land because I will give it to you as your possession—a land flowing with milk and honey.’ I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart from all other people.

Because we are God’s Children and we belong to Christ through our faith in Him, we receive many benefits of our relationship. One being that where ever God has told us to go, He will provide the way.  And any obstacles that we may see in the way, all we have to do is trust in God’s Word and continue to move forward.  For if we would just remember from where we have come, we could see the Hand of God moving in our lives and on our behalf to get us to where He has promised.

Joshua 23:3 NASB  3 And you have seen all that the LORD your God has done to all these nations because of you, for the LORD your God is He who has been fighting for you.

So you may being thinking, that this is all well and good, but you are not where you want to be right now and all that you can see is the enemy blocking your path.  When will God remove this obstacle, this roadblock so that I can receive what He has promised me? What am I to do?

I can only think of the same answer that God gave His Children then and what He is telling us now: Have Faith!

We are not to be so worried about our adversary other than to watch out for his schemes, lies and tricks, that he uses to try to destroy our faith in God.

1 Peter 5:8-9a NLT 8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.

In this process, arteries at the door in few days. cialis 10 mg pop over to this drugshop is one of the great advantages is that it’s possible to buy them at affordable rates now. Birth control pills are viagra cheap usa also readily available.

The other thing we are to do is very simple in my opinion and that is to stay in the Word of God.  To rely on the Holy Spirit to teach us and strengthen our faith in the promises of God that are contained in His Word.  Without knowing what God says, we are open to treachery, lies, half-truths and deceit from the world and our enemies.

But God didn’t even leave this to us alone.  Jesus was sent to face our adversary and defeat him with the very Word of God that is available to us.

Luke 4:3-13 NLT 3 Then the devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread.” 4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone. 5 Then the devil took him up and revealed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 “I will give you the glory of these kingdoms and authority over them,” the devil said, “because they are mine to give to anyone I please. 7 I will give it all to you if you will worship me.” 8 Jesus replied, “The Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the LORD your God and serve only him.” 9 Then the devil took him to Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! 10 For the Scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect and guard you. 11 And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.” 12 Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the LORD your God.” 13 When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came.

There may be many opportunities to come in our lives where the enemy is allowed to confront us. We should be watching and ready for the attack.  But we no longer have to fight for Christ already did so for us.  We are simply to stand on the Word of God.

Now some may say that we have been given armor to fight.  But is it to fight with or to stand with?

Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people

Yes, I think it is to STAND.

Sometimes, our stress and frustration as Christians comes because we are busy doing things that are already done.  Instead of resting in Christ, having the peace of Christ, trusting and standing, we are busy worrying, fighting, and chasing after.

One last thing to end the week.  Something to ponder.  When you read the following scripture, what does it say to you?

John 19:30b NIV Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Have a wonderful day.

Do You Have A Right Relationship With God?

Heavenly Father, we praise your Holy name for calling us to a unique and right relationship with you, through your Son, Jesus Christ. For we find that the closer we come to knowing you, the more we know of your love for us and the more we love you.  Not for what you provide, but for who you are.  We do thank you and appreciate all that you have given us, physically, mentally but most importantly, spiritually.  For when our spirit is connected to yours, we are made whole and complete.  We are truly able to live abundantly as Christ declared and our lives are filled with riches that are beyond those that the world offers.  Yes, riches that are the fruit of your Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. For without these, we are poor, no matter how much wealth we obtain in this world.  We honor and bless your name today and everyday Father.  We love you and appreciate you for everything in our lives. For you know exactly what we need and when we need it. We pray and thank you in Jesus name, Amen.

“I desire for you to have an intimate relationship with me through my Son. For it is better than all the riches of the world.” – God

Luke 12:21 NLT  “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”

I know this is not a new theme or concept. We have all read or heard this preached before.  Greater is knowing God and having a relationship with Him, than having all that we desire in and of this world.  Yet, we or maybe just I, can’t seem to help my mind from wandering in thinking about all of the material things and money and fame, that is constantly bombarding my senses on a daily basis.

The great thing that I have come to know is, God, in His Omnipotence, realized how much of a struggle this would be for His Children, that He even took the responsibility of us entering into a right relationship with Him, away from us and placed this responsibility on His Son, Jesus.

Romans 5:18 NLT 18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.

By medical research of the European doctors, drinking Karlovy Vary healing mineral water reduces pain, cramps, bloating, gas, decreases heartburn, and improves the lab tests in persons getting viagra with diabetes, it is considered that diabetes is behind the cause. Yes, we still have to acknowledge our sins, repent of them, and receive the gift of salvation, but the truly hard work was done by Christ.  He established the method or vehicle for us to enter into a new and full relationship with God.  And the great thing about all of this?  God desired it from the beginning.

Romans 4:13 NLT 13 Clearly, God’s promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was based not on his obedience to God’s law, but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith.

A right relationship with God, born of faith, is more valuable than anything we can accumulate, buy, bargain or obtain on our own. It is this faith in Christ, that pleases God and makes available all of Him to us.

Instead of working so much on service and sacrifice, try getting to know God in a more intimate way through His Son Jesus.  Institute faith in God in your daily lives.  Stop looking for answers and help from the world. It can only provide false and or temporary solutions that more than often hinders a closer relationship with Christ.

Relationships can be good, fruitful and beneficial.  But there is nothing greater than an intimate relationship with God Almighty.

Is a relationship with God your number 1 priority?  I pray if not, that today you will begin to make it so.

God Will Never Be “Politically Correct”

Heavenly Father, we thank you again, for a new day.  We pray that your Will be done in our lives and that our will conforms to yours. That our desires become your desires and that we continue to live for you.  Let our lives shine brightly in this world that rapidly seems to get darker and darker.  Set us on a hill Father so that your Spirit flows in, through and from us, to this world that desperately needs to know you.  Help us to live accordingly to your Word and your Word only.  We desire for the Holy Spirit to be our guide and declare Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  You are our God and we will have no other.  We praise you today and may every thing we do, glorify your name.  In Jesus name we ask this…Amen.

“I will never be “politically correct” for I will never think nor act the way you do. My standards will never change.” – God

Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Unfortunately our society today is adamant that we all become more politically correct in our vocabulary, thinking and actions.  It seems like every new generation and every new trend that comes along, must be accepted and adhered to.  The rules of society continues to change and what once was unacceptable is now acceptable. What once was wrong is now right.  Whatever the majority determines is the new thinking, the new normal, is promoted, encouraged and in some cases, enforced.

But the Word of God has something to say about this generation or any generation that believes and thinks this way:

Isaiah 5:20-21 NIV 20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.

So where does the Believer stand today?  How should we respond?

Isaiah 51:7 NLT 7 “Listen to me, you who know right from wrong, you who cherish my law in your hearts. Do not be afraid of people’s scorn, nor fear their insults.

1 Timothy 4:16 NLT 16 Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.

We are not to change from the instructions we have been given from Almighty God through His Word, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God’s servants.  Even if the world is doing their “new thing”, we must not falter or waiver in what we know is right, according to the Word of God.

Romans 12:2 NIV 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

We are called to and for a higher purpose as Children on God.  We will be considered different, non-compliant, radical and in some cases, ignorant and foolish to believe in a God that the world does not know and refuses to accept. But we must hold on to God’s unchanging hands…with all that we have. This is how we are to be lights and the salt of the earth.

Its Not Happening To You…Its Happening For You

Do what you need to do in us Heavenly Father, for we don’t want second best, but all that You have Willed for our life.  In Jesus name we ask this, Amen.

“Don’t fear your test or trials. For they are to strengthened your understanding and trust in our Father and increase your faith.” – Jesus

Exodus 20:20 NLT  “Don’t be afraid,” Moses answered them, “for God has come in this way to test you, and so that your fear of him will keep you from sinning!”

Instead of always looking at what is happening TO us, we need to see what is happening IN us.  When we have this perspective of our circumstances and situations, we will have less fear and frustration and allow more of God’s peace and joy, to return to us.  For it is in our circumstances, when we are at our wits end, that we can come to realize the vastness of God’s love, mercy, grace and power.

But we can only see this, if we take our eyes off of us and place our focus on God.  For example, if I pray for deliverance from any situation I may be going through, and if I continue to only think about what is happening to me, what I may be losing or not getting;  hopelessness, fear and disbelief in God is bred.  I will begin to sink further into my doubts and fears that God is not able or will not help me.  The longer God takes, the greater I sink into this condition.

In fact a lot of men who are diagnosed with ED, cheap 100mg viagra while many of them do not want to talk to anyone about the problem, let alone seek help, and will rather opt to live with the condition.

However, when I think about what God is doing within me, increasing my faith, trust, hope, peace and perseverance, removing sin, eliminating unhealthy thinking and living, renewing and regenerating a right spirit and a clean heart in me; I am strengthened by the knowledge that God is in control and on my side.  He is doing a great and perfect work in me, so that I will be made acceptable and presentable to His Son, when He returns for those God has given Him.

I’ve learned a long time ago that being “almost clean”, being “almost right” with God, isn’t going to cut it.  All spots and wrinkles in me must be removed.  There can’t be any lingering, secret, unrepentant sins in my life.  Therefore for me, every trial and test that God allows in my life, is part of His perfecting Will for me.

My brothers and sisters, its all in how we see it.  Either God is for us as He says He is or we are still going through the motions, playing church, being religious versus having a complete relationship with Christ.  Knowing that everything in our lives is for His purpose for us should draw us closer to Him and help us to endure our tests and trials that we by now know will come.  Again, God tells us:

Jeremiah 29:11-14 NLT 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the LORD. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”

Hallelujah and Amen!

God’s True Blessings Are Not Of This World

Heavenly Father, we thank you for yet another day to honor you and worship you.  We ask forgiveness for our sins and your help in completely turning away from them.  We know our sins separate us from you and that is not our desire, for we long to be in your presence and to commune with you.  We ask Father that your Spirit fills us, surrounds us and empowers us to live for you.  That we truly become beacons of your glory and direction to others for a saving relationship with Jesus.  Let your light shine brightly in and through us this day.  And we will praise you always.  In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

“I came to save you from death and to provide you a better place for all eternity.” – Jesus

Romans 6:23 NLT 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

I’m very thankful that this truth is always before me.  Its just that, every time my mind or heart begins to wander and look at what’s going on in the world, I can receive peace in knowing that I was not created to spend eternity in this world.  No, a gift has been given, a promise made that eternity in Heaven, awaits all who has received Christ as their Lord and Savior.

No matter how tempting the things of this world always seems, we must hold on to every promise of God for what’s better.  And here’s whats better? Every spiritual blessing from Heaven.  The Fruits of God’s Spirit.  The very Character of Christ.

We often get it mixed up. Wrongly thinking and/or believing that our blessings are worldly or natural.  If you don’t agree with me, please check out Matthew 5:3-12 (any version).  For you see, the key is that we are first blessed inwardly/spiritually.  And the outcomes can and sometimes are manifested naturally.

But I will continue this discussion for another devotional.

See God’s blessings in a new way.
