Its Still All About Jesus

O’ Lord Jesus, we thank you for giving us life and purpose. For creating the path to our loving Heavenly Father.  May we honor you and all that you have done and continue to do on our behalf. Thank you for the Holy Spirit, our Guide and Comfort during times of uncertainty.  We praise you for your light that illuminates our way through this dark and evil world.  Clean up our minds so that we can see you clearly.  Create in us a clean heart and renew the right spirit within us Lord.  Help us to remain joyful in knowing we are saved and hold us up with your Spirit when we allow the world to drag us down. Jesus we give you honor and praise for who you are and who you are shaping us to be in you.  It is in your name we pray, Amen.

“Feeling directionless and without a purpose in life?  Then come to me. I am the way and will show you THE Way”. – Jesus

John 14:6 NKJV 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

If we are honest with ourselves, we would admit that many times along this Christian journey, we find ourselves in an unfamiliar position or area in our lives. We are going along just fine, making it to church each Sunday, faithful in our giving and service. And for those really committed Believers, we even take time to make it to prayer meeting on Wednesday, choir practice on Saturday, Sunday School and even crazy enough, er, dedicated enough to volunteer for children’s church.:-) We are humble in our attitude, friendly and patient with others on the job, helpful and available at home, loving and caring as much as possible each day.

Then it happens.  Somewhere, somehow, we look up from being the best Christian we know how and find ourselves in unfamiliar territory.  Our joy and zeal for Christ is gone. Our patience and love for others is nowhere to be found. Our prayers seem to bounce back from the ceiling and its a struggle to eek out a “thank you Lord”.  We are lost and the longer we stay lost, we begin to question our walk with God, our commitment and unfortunately, God’s Will for us.

Does any of this sounds familiar?  Well praise God if you have never yet experienced this. But for most of us who have found ourselves in this desert place, Jesus provides the remedy.

Revelation 2:2-5 NKJV 2 “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; 3 and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.

Remember before we got so busy being a Christian, how we just wanted to spend time hearing the Word of Christ?  Remember How we couldn’t get enough of reading about Jesus’ birth, ministry, death and resurrection?  It was Jesus this and Jesus that.  Remember how our old friends and even some of our family members, that we had lost it? LOL.  Remember when those who would turn and go the other way when they saw you coming because they knew what the first thing would come out of your mouth…Jesus?

At this time, we were not lost, we were not without purpose or direction.  No we had found The Way, The Truth and The Life…in God!  And because we had found Jesus, we had found ourselves, our created purpose, our eternal future.  It had absolutely nothing to do with church attendance, amount of giving or service, etc. etc.  It was simply all about Jesus.

Can I share something with you this morning?  IT’S STILL ALL ABOUT JESUS!.

If you have found yourself in unfamiliar territory, may your heart, soul and spirit refocuses themselves on Jesus.  For He is THE WAY to God, THE TRUTH of God and THE LIFE in God.

We are blessed indeed.
